GREAT THINGS ABOUT SYLVESTER:
Sylvester is a great community to rear a family because of its location and facilities. The school playg round, tennis court, basketball court and well lighted streets are safe for children and adults to use for bicycling, skating, playing ball and walking. A residential community, Sylvester is home to an elementary school and five churches. The Appalachian Bible College was founded in Sylvester, and remained here for six years before re-locating near Beckley. Located on the eastern edge of Boone County along WV Route 3, Sylvester is 36 miles from Charleston, Madison, and Beckley. The town is presently engaged in projects to upgrade street lights, replace old sidewalks, storm drains and street resurfacing.
